About Olive Tree Academy
Founder and Managing Instructor Christopher Chebat started his tutoring journey in high school where he worked as an after-school math tutor. While in high school, Chris was enrolled in an SAT school that cost thousands of dollars. However, Chris grew up in very humble circumstances, so his parents had to sell their car to subsidize the cost of his SAT prep and he ultimately gained very little from the program. This inspired his desire to change the tutoring landscape by offering exclusively private tutoring for the same price as his competitors offering a large classroom setting.
Chris continued to tutor throughout his undergraduate studies both in a private capacity and for his undergraduate institution. Over the pandemic, he began to expand his tutoring operations by hiring qualified expert tutors and accepting more students. Today, Olive Tree Academy has successfully aided over 400 students with their coursework, test prep, and school applications.
Our Process
At Olive Tree Academy, we prioritize student success over all other factors. Our tutors are carefully hired and thoughtfully trained on the best methods and strategies for student comprehension. We utilize a "shape-driven" methodology when it comes to teaching math, statistics, and physics. Our goal is not to teach our students how to pass an exam. Rather, we are looking to train our student's intuition to be able to look at a problem and have their first instinct be the correct way to address the problem.
